    Description

    A very rare and early wet cell battery patented by Georges Leclanche.  This particular example is a ‘porous pot cell’ battery which was the original patent design after which were subsequent adoptions.  This porous pot battery dates approximately to the 1860’s because of the porous manganese dioxide cell and Zinc rod design.
    This battery is missing the zinc rod.
