    Description

This auction is for the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1985. The artwork is in the form of a Christmas Card at the top to a Judge from the U>S. Attorney ending with "you're indicted". This art most likely refers to the FBI's Operation Greylord investigation of corruption in Chicago and Cook County, Illinois. 17 judges were indicted along with other employees of the court, sheriffs, police and others. The artwork measures approx. 11-5/8" x 17-5/8". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. On the back you can see some markings / notes made by Sun-Times layout editors. The artwork is in good condition - "is excited" in the text at the top had been added by the artist by attaching another piece of paper = there are a few small marks/smudges on the art - there is some light dirt - "Christmas Eve" is written in pencil on the bottom, so it may have been run on that day = the four corners have small dents to the tips - there is a 3" x 1/2" sticker on the back at the bottom, which was probably put on by the newspaper and has some light paper loss by it and there is a similar size piece of cello tape next to it - there is light dirt on the back of the art and ink transfer on the back from artwork that was stored under this one.
