    The Porter Cable 7800 Brushes are a very common wear part for your Porter Cable 7800 Drywall Sander.  If your sander does not seem to be working correctly, most likely this is the culprit. Just remove the screws to the motor housing, and you will see these brushes on both sides of the motor.  Remove the screw holding this brush in the motor, put the new ones in and reverse the process.  The motor only has two brushes.
