This is a stunning antique 19th century pressed leather ambro-type
daguerreotype photograph.
it is a beautiful photograph of a nicely dressed middle aged Victorian female, her jewelry is hand embellished with gold paint and the image has a wonderful silver tone finish.
the photograph is set in a very ornate brass trim and into the nice leather wrapped box.
the opposite side of the photo has a very detailed floral velour scene which has a little bit of damage.
the case is heavily embossed with detailed pressed leather flowers and nice trim-work.
it also has a nice bronze hook clasp to lock the box on the side.
This photo box is larger than most measuring 3 3/4 inches by 3 3/8 inches.
has normal ware from age.
