  • Condition: There are missing spots on the photo and the gilt frame for the photo is detached at one of the corners and a little bent out of shape as seen in the photos, it still displays good when it is in its case. The thermal plastic case is in two pieces and has typical usage wear throughout. Overall the piece still displays beautifully and stands as a piece of local Lancaster history.

    Up for sale is an Antique Ambrotype Photo of a Man from Lancaster, Pennsylvania named Jacob H. Lawrence. Circa 1861.
    Featuring an Ambrotype Portrait Photograph of Jacob H. Lawrence. The photo is in a thermal plastic/wood case with embossed designs on the covers. The inside of the case where the photo goes has handwriting that reads "Jacob H / Lawrence / This picture / Was taken *ineligible* in the year / 1861 / *ineligible, probably photographers name* / Lancaster . Pa"
    Jacob H. Lawrence was Born November 7th 1847 and died August 28th 1932 Aged 84. He was married to Sarah A. (Sell) Lawrence (1854-1893) and had 3 children, Joseph (Sell) Lawrence (1877-1965), Jesse R. Lawrence (1881-1946), and Anne E. (Lawrence) Kauffman (1882-1977). Jacob is buried at Washington Boro Cemetery in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
