Grand Duchy of Finland, Alexander II era (1855-1881); scarce 1st year of issue - only 254K were minted! After Finland had finally gained independence from Russia large quantities of Imperial gold were repeatedly melted down; only a fraction of the original mintage survives today. The coin is 18.9 mm in diameter, about uncirculated condition; early Finnish gold coinage is scarce in any shape or form today.
