    FR #  840b / 1914 FRN/Red Minneapolis -46 known only/rare -  PMG 8
large-sized  red-seal Federal Reserve Note, series of 1914 from  the Minneapolis district.
    Friedberg # is  840b;  serial # is I730268A.
Signatures -  as with all 1914 red seals - are Burke and McAdoo.
These red-seal  1914 FRNs are compelling to collectors for at least two  reasons:
    1)  Red seal  s in general are 8 times rarer than their blue-seal  counterparts.
    2)  Just 6.9%  of all reported red seals hail from the Minneapolis  district.
Only 46 examples of this particular Friedberg number are  known in all grades based on the Gengerke census as of June  of this year.
In the larger  coin world, this would be considered rare.
Rare is many ways is an understatement on this amazing  wonder note that could leave the most jaded and experienced  currency auctioneer gasping for air.
An epic item of prestige, pizzazz, power, and eye popping sex appeal. Possibly  opportunity of a lifetime to secure an immensely desirable note at a fraction of  true museum value.
A screaming epic dream wonder note that might just be the very best investment  you will ever make. An opportunity to acquire a great note with a trajectory of  huge investment upside. This is a note that could make the most cynical jaded  currency collector cry like a baby.
The mere thought of getting to own this supreme dream wonder note someday,  should equal the thrill of being able to experience all of ones childhood  Christmas mornings or Chanukah nights at once.
A tremendous opportunity to secure a dream.
A  museum item, if indeed acquired by a museum, will forever be  out of private  hands. We are blown away and humbled by the  honor bestowed upon us when we  acquired this treasure.
We believe       that the valuation gap which exists between the       coin and currency hobbies will drive      collectible-currency values higher over time.

    A
    (
    FRNs
    or
    ferns
) is a type of banknote issued by the Federal  Reserve System and is the main type of paper currency in the United States.
    are currency, with the words
"this note is  legal tender for all debts, public and private" printed on each bill.
They  are issued by the Federal Reserve Banks and have replaced United States Notes,  which were once issued by the Treasury Department.
    The
    Federal Reserve System
    (also  the
    Federal Reserve
    ; informally
    The Fed
) is the central banking  system of the United States. It is composed of a central Board of Governors in  Washington, D.C., twelve regional Federal Reserve Banks located in major cities  throughout the nation, numerous member banks and other entities (see below). Ben  Bernanke serves as the current Chairman         of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.
The  Federal Reserve System was created via the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 which  "established a new central bank designed to add both flexibility and strength to  the nation's financial system."
The legislation  provided for a system that included a number of regional Reserve Banks and a  seven-member governing board.
All national banks were required to join the system  and other banks could join. The Reserve Banks opened for business in November  1914.
    Congress created
to provide the nation with an elastic supply of currency.
    The
notes were to be issued to Reserve Banks for  subsequent transmittal to banking institutions in accordance with the needs of  the public. It includes a system of eight to twelve regional reserve banks,  owned by its commercial member banks and supervised by the Federal Reserve  Board.
The board and its chairman are appointed by the president and  approved by the Senate.
Economists of the Austrian  School such as Ludwig von Mises contend that it is the Federal Reserve's  artificial manipulation of the money supply that leads to the boom/bust business  cycle that has occurred over the last century.
Many economic libertarians, such as Austrian School economists, believe that the  Federal Reserve's manipulation of the money supply to stop         "gold flight" from England caused,       or was         instrumental in causing, the Great
    Depression.
In         general, laissez-faire advocates of free banking         argue that there is no better judge of the proper         interest rate and money supply than the market.
Some, like Larry Kudlow, argue that the Federal         Reserve should exist, but the Federal Funds Rate and the Discount rate should be determined by a free         float. This way, the Federal Reserve would still be         able to influence the money supply with its         open-market operations (buying and selling bonds),         and banks would be more efficient setting their own         rates.
The Libertarian Party and the Constitution         Party advocate the abolition of the Federal Reserve,         saying that a central bank is not a power given to         the government in the Constitution and that the         power to print currency and regulate its value is         explicitly given to Congress in Article 1, Section 8         of our Constitution.
Nobel Economist Milton Friedman         says, he "prefer[s] to abolish the federal reserve system  altogether." Political commentator G.
Edward  Griffin also has called for the abolishment of the Federal  Reserve. In
    America:
    From Freedom to  Fascism
, filmmaker Aaron Russo also rails against fiat money, and cites it as a danger         to western civilization.
