German pilot emergency parachute container (FA. Mertens) Made in 1999 - mint

Description

This is an excellent shape emergency parachute container
Made in Germany, by "Fallschirm Heinrich Mertens"
Model 12-82/23R
Used to house a 24ft round parachute
Manufactured 06/1999, and unfortunately life limited to 20 years - so although it's in mint shape, it will be expired in June 2019
Would make a great conversation piece or a rig for rigging practice
Conventional harness with B12 snaps on the legstraps and a thread-through chest strap
Includes vane pilot chute +  tubular bridle and wooden dowel toggles
Does not include a canopy
