    Description

GORGEOUSLY POSED 1/9 PLATE AMBROTYPE YOUNG LADY WITH HANKY INSIDE TRI-FOLD CASE -
I would definitely consider this ninth plate ambrotype a step beyond your average portrait. I ask my fellow hard plate collectors when have you seen such a wonderfully posed portrait. The young attractive lady placed her elbow on the backside of the chair and delicately interlaced her fingers while clutching her white hanky. Does the handkerchief have any symbolic meaning? Could she be missing a lover or the loss of a family member? I will leave that up to the next owners discretion or interpretation. She wore her fine dress with large raggamuffin sleeves and a beautiful brooch at the center of her lace collar. Warmth was gently applied to her lovely cheeks. Her gorgeous portrait resides in a wonderful tri-fold leather case as her presentation. I guarantee the next lucky owner will adore this 19th Century cased portrait in their collection.
    CONDITION
: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of this cased image and as part of my description. The ninth plate ambrotype contains outstanding contrast, tonal range, beautiful sharpness and stunning composition. Subtle warmth applied to the young lady's face. The rarer used case is in fine working order and the silk pillow is free of age stains. There is an older repair to a tear in the leather, but as you can clearly see, it is barely noticeable today. I will carefully ship this cased image to the winning by their choice of 1st Class or Priority shipping at checkout.
