    Description

    Very stylized images of Lion / Boar. 8mm, 0.40 grams. Unknown mint in the extreme South India or in Sri Lanka. Hans Harrli "Gold Fanams"  #1.31 var (the dot on obverse is replaced with a dagger).
    These Vira Raya type fanams are found generally in the extreme South India and in Sri Lanka. The location of the mint where these were struck is unknown, but it is likely that they were struck on the mainland and imported to Sri Lanka through trade. This variety is unpublished, with a dot in the middle of obverse replaced with an upright dagger (the rest of the design was not changed).
