Redesigned with the help of a few old tea-stained original schematics, the Orange Vintage Series Sustain effects pedal is a classic '70s compressor reborn! Orange kept the Sustain’s basic design as close as possible to the original, with only a few minor changes being introduced for improved tone and functionality. The introduction of a differential side-chain results in a smoother bloom and the LED in the center now provides visual feedback, switching colors depending on your level of gain reduction. Apart from that, it’s simply a world-class 2-knob compressor — Sweetwater guitarists find that the Sustain is equally capable of everything from a slight evening-out of your tone to full-on smashed and slammed compression, all while retaining your instrument’s true tone.
Two knobs — endless versatility
Don’t be fooled by the Sustain’s simple operation! This compressor is loaded with utility, sporting a bare-bones control scheme of a depth knob and a level knob that allow you to effortless turn up those quiet parts and soften your more energetic outbursts. At the most basic level, the Sustain can be used as a simple volume boost, but we’ve found that even on the lower settings, it’s great for adding a sparkling chime to your sound. Crank up the knobs to fully flatten out your signal and make your every note consistently pop right out of the amp!
