This is a rare 200 year old piece of American history in the form of asigned letter by
Supreme Court
Chief Justice John Marshall
from 1823
. Professionally matted and framed. Ready for display in home or office. Perfect gift for a Judge, History Professor, or Lawyer etc. Original ink handwritten letter. Letter deals with a land tract in Washington,PA on May 26, 1823. Rare signature from one the most influential figures in American history. Marshall signature is usually not in a displayable appearance like this - compared to other auctions in the past. Marshall served as Chief justice of the supreme court from 1801-1835. Marshall was also the cousin of Thomas Jefferson. Guaranteed authentic! See my feedback and bid with confidence. This will be well packed and secured. Shipped with full insurance. Document can be removed and put back together for inspection/ authentication if desired. However, letter is not of real importance - the signature is the rare and collectable item! I thought about framing the whole letter but it would be too big of a display area and letter content is not of any collectable significance. This was from an estate sale and was put away folded and well stored for many years. The ink has been well preserved and the letter is in great shape for a 200 year old document - with just fold marks. Fell free to ask me any questions. Thanks for looking!
